One of the biggest Spring events in Washington DC is the Cherry Blossom Festival. All around the Tidal Basin cherry trees are in full bloom. The trees were once a gift from Japan to the United States in 1912 to enhance the friendship between the two countries. We caught a nice day last Saturday to walk around the Basin enjoying the exciting colors and the crowd strolling around.
